Jaha Koo was born in 1984 in South Korea, at a time when Koreans could still dream of a bright future. This was before the economic transition that resulted in numerous violently suppressed protests. Drawing on his experience of violence and frustration, the artist has created a tragicomic performance about friendship and loneliness. Jaha Koo combines the story of global evolution with a private tale, showing South Korea’s transformation as a symbol of a time when finance took precedence over people.
