The European third largest (after Paris and London) Japanese community lives in Düsseldorf. However, the Japanese go to their shops, restaurants and cultural institutions, schools and karaoke bars. The Japanese and the Germans meet mostly during “Japanese weeks” or “days of Japan”. In 2006, Luk Perceval, together with playwright and dramaturge Thomas Jonigk, launched a project aiming to bring both cultures closer. The film is the outcome of this project.
