Heda and her five children flee to Poland from the war-torn Chechnya. In one of the refugee centres, Heda meets Marina, who teaches her a new word: ‘volunteer’. From then on, Marina and Heda work together helping the homeless, the residents of pensioners’ homes and prisoners. When Heda becomes gravely ill, Marina comes up with the idea of making this film. Heda dies, but the film is not a sad story. It is a moving, genuinely sisterly tale of life guided by generosity.

The screenings are organised in cooperation with the international festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film, the oldest festival of documentary films in Warsaw.
