Customers of the seamstress shop ‘Madame Chapeau’ call its owner a black woman of white skin. She is the last white Belgian running a boutique in Gallerie Ixelles of the Matongé district in Brussels. Other than Africans, the Gallery is only frequented by Belgians who nostalgically reminisce on their years in Africa, and tourists seeking exotic attractions. Despite the somewhat anarchistic ambience, Madame Chapeau has never considered leaving her shop.
The screenings are organised in cooperation with the international festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film, the oldest festival of documentary films in Warsaw.
