A young rapper imprisoned for several months for a song that criticised Bashar al-Asad. A choreographer tortured by the secret police. A graphic artist whose brother was conscripted into the army and was killed while attempting desertion. The Story Won’t Die is a film about Syrian artists in exile: people who use art as a space where they can make use of their experience. It is also the story of millions of refugees who will never get past the walls and barbed wire that keep them from a similar chance of a new life.
The screenings are organised in cooperation with the international festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film, the oldest festival of documentary films in Warsaw.
